0:00Let's say I'm heading into work and I want to pick up a latte from my favorite coffee shop before going. 0:06So, using my phone, I place an order on the mobile app and by the time I get there, my coffee is ready. 0:12It has my name on it and I am headed out the door. 0:16Now a little notification pops up from the app saying, Did you receive your order? 0:20Yes. 0:21Would you like to leave a tip? 0:22Absolutely. 0:23Love my barista. 0:24Now, would you be willing to take a three question survey? 0:27Sure. 0:28So as I'm getting back in my car, I quickly take the little survey 0:32and a promo pops up afterwards saying, Thanks for taking the survey. 0:36Here is a baked good for free. 0:39The next time you come into this location and get a drink. 0:43Awesome customer experience. 0:45Quick, easy. 0:46And I have my latte. 0:48But there's a lot going on behind the scenes to make this all happen. 0:52The tools, the systems, the metrics in play for any customer experience, well, 0:58it can feel a little bit like an acronym soup when we start talking about them, but they're important to know. 1:04So today we're going to talk about the tools about for customer experience. 1:09Let's start with CRM, ERP and CMMS. 1:13I know, it sounds like we're at the eye doctor taking an exam, but we're going to figure this out. 1:19So, CRM stands for Customer Relationship Management System. 1:25Now, this system looks at everything from prospecting to post sales. 1:34And it tracks all touchpoints with the customer. 1:39So how are they able to give me a promo that is personalized with my name, 1:43the drink that I love, the location that I often go to? 1:47Well, because the system is tracking all of those touch points and 1:53customer purchase history, 1:55my interests, my likes, my feedback and letting it personal, 2:01letting the marketing and salespeople personalize based on that. 2:06Now, Enterprise resource planning. 2:08That's the ERP. 2:11That really looks at all 2:16core business operations. 2:23What does that mean? 2:27Well. 2:28Everything from inventory, supply chain, HR, marketing, sales, finance, you name it. 2:36This is your single source of truth. 2:39What does that have to do with the customer experience? 2:41Well. 2:42You need to make sure that you have enough coffee beans, right, the espresso beans to make these drinks. 2:48So that's an inventory management problem. 2:51It's also a supply chain issue. 2:53It's finance. 2:55It's accounting. 2:56And you're making sure that you have the staff at each of these locations to cover the customers. 3:02Again, HR, 3:04Training, 3:05all of this is within the ERP. 3:08Now CMMS, again hard to see how it's directly tied to customer experience. 3:14But this computerized maintenance 3:19management system 3:23is helping to keep track of all assets 3:27and equipment for their lifespan. 3:33Why does that matter? 3:34Well, if the espresso machine is broken, we're going to have a problem making a latte. 3:39If the app is not working, we're going to have a problem putting in an order ahead of time. 3:43So this system is keeping track of all of this equipment, of all these assets. 3:49And if they need repairs, generating those tickets and making sure that the fixes can be tracked in a timely manner. 3:58All right. 3:59Big systems lot happening there. 4:02Now let's talk about some more creative aspects of customer experience. 4:07I'd like to introduce you to our next bowl of alphabet soup, which is CMS Dam and ECM. 4:15CMS is your content management system. 4:22Now, this is exactly what it sounds like, 4:26it is a hub for all content. 4:33Let's say that my coffee shop 4:37sends out a monthly newsletter. 4:39Well, that newsletter has versions that needs tracking, 4:44plus, there's a monthly edition. 4:46All of that stored and happens in the CMS. 4:49People can see how it even performs. 4:53Now say that that monthly newsletter also has a really cute video in it where it's highlighting the, 5:00I don't know, 5:01the coffee of the month. 5:03Well, that flavor of the month in that video 5:07comes from creators who then put it in a digital asset management system affectionately known as DAM. 5:20The digital asset management system 5:23is your again, single source of truth for all these digital assets. 5:27So videos. 5:30Photos, even individual files. 5:33It is your hub for digital assets, 5:42but then can be used across the company. 5:47So everything from web to your paid media, your marketers can pull assets from the DAM and put them in the CMS. 5:58Finally, 6:00We have enterprise content management system now. 6:05If say it's not a mom and pop coffee shop, but a large enterprise with 6:15places around the world speaking different languages, 6:19you're going to need something that helps you store, manage and share content across much larger systems. 6:29And this is where ECM comes in. 6:36All right. 6:38Alphabet soup, 6:39I know, but mischief managed. 6:43All of these help play a role in making customer experiences better. 6:50Now, how do you know that that's making it better? 6:53How do you know customers are satisfied? 6:55How do you know that the assets are as good as they could be or are performing the way you want them to? 7:03Well, that's where we get into metrics and a whole other bowl of acronyms, soup, which we will talk about in another video. 7:11Thanks for watching.
