0:00a digital employee can help you get work 0:02done faster 0:03it helps you with repetitive mundane 0:05tasks so you can focus on the bigger 0:06picture 0:07having a digital employee is like having 0:09your own sidekick an executive assistant 0:12or a new teammate that is trained to do 0:15a specific set of tasks 0:17imagine having your own intelligent 0:19digital worker that just for you and 0:21your team 0:23that can do things for you like generate 0:25a monthly report or onboard a new 0:28teammate or onboard a new vendor 0:30how much time would you save how much 0:33more productive would you be 0:35but how would it work 0:36and how is it different from a 0:38conventional software robot 0:39I'm Leslie Chao product manager at IBM 0:42Automation and today we're going to open 0:44up the hood and peek in 0:46but before we dive in if you like this 0:48video or want to see more like it please 0:50like And subscribe 0:51there are three key characteristics that 0:53make a digital employee effective at 0:54helping you and your team do work 0:57and that's 1:00identity 1:01context and planning let's start with 1:04identity 1:07a digital employee has a name and a 1:10profile in your work directory it has ID 1:13and login credentials and that's really 1:16important for two key reasons for the 1:18first 1:19having a name and profile also means it 1:22has a drop profile and specific things 1:25that it does in the company 1:27that allows folks in your team to be 1:29able to know to go to the digital 1:31employee for specific asks just like 1:33with your human colleagues you know to 1:35go to Bob for HR things and Sally for 1:39finance things 1:41the second reason is security 1:44with access and ID comes Access Control 1:48this allows you to secure and protect 1:50your business systems and provide your 1:52digital employee access to specific 1:55Business Systems and specific 1:56applications and data so that you can 1:58protect those 2:00next let's go to context 2:04context and memory gives your digital 2:06employee context of what you do as a 2:09business as well as a conversation that 2:11you and your colleagues are having with 2:12it 2:13that's really important for two reasons 2:16one it makes the conversation flow much 2:19more naturally 2:20that way it remembers when you when 2:22you're having the conversations or asks 2:24that you're giving in so that way you're 2:26not spending more time asking and typing 2:28and explaining yourself then just doing 2:32it yourself 2:33so you can say something like generated 2:35financial report and then say send it it 2:39the digital employee has context and 2:41memory of the conversation that's had 2:43with you so it knows that it is the 2:45financial report and to send it by email 2:49second reason is it understands your 2:51asks better so that you can say things 2:53whether it's create a report or generate 2:56a report or generate a statement you 2:59know that those mean the same thing to 3:00you and the employee also knows those 3:03would mean the same thing it means 3:05generate the financial report 3:06last but not least is planning 3:10planning is what makes a digital 3:12employee special 3:13the digital employee has AI that allows 3:16it to generate a plan or plans to 3:18accomplish a specific goal so when you 3:21ask it to do something like generate a 3:24monthly financial report 3:25it looks into its repository skills that 3:29you gave it and come up with a plan or 3:31plans to accomplish that goal 3:34for example the digital employee can 3:36look into The Ledger database directly 3:38it can generally report in Salesforce or 3:42maybe it will look into a Dropbox folder 3:44to see if someone else has already put 3:45it there 3:46it will present this these options to 3:49you and give you a recommended amended 3:51options and let you decide how you would 3:54want to generate a monthly financial 3:56report 3:58so there you have it digital employees 4:00have identity context and plan 4:04thank you if you like this video and 4:06want to see more like it please like And 4:08subscribe if you have questions please 4:10drop them in the comments below
