iPaaS: Solving Integration Chaos

Key Points

  • Modern businesses face chaotic integration challenges as the proliferation of apps—accelerated by AI—makes it hard to leverage data effectively.
  • iPaaS (Integration Platform as a Service) acts as a universal connector, enabling organizations to link thousands of apps, APIs, B2B partners, events, and files into a cohesive, holistic system.
  • The platform’s “four C’s” framework—Composition, Connections, Code (or low‑code), and Simplification—guides how iPaaS builds composite solutions, establishes secure hybrid connections, and reduces reliance on custom coding.
  • Hybrid iPaaS solutions can run on‑premise, in the cloud, or across both, using hundreds of pre‑built connectors while also allowing custom connector development when needed.
  • Recent AI advancements have been embedded into iPaaS, unlocking new automation and intelligence capabilities that further streamline integration and data utilization.

0:03Chaos. 0:05It's a reality a lot of businesses are facing today. 0:09Look at you have a lot of apps, but when you go to try to connect them all together, 0:14well, it can be a little chaotic. 0:17And if that's not enough, you also have AI, 0:21which is driving businesses to consume more and more apps. 0:25And this is making it very difficult to be able to leverage your data effectively. 0:32Well, this is where iPaaS comes into play. 0:35iPaaS stands for Integration Platform as a service. 0:39And I'm going to give you a quick break down what it is. 0:41But more importantly, I'm going to show you how you can use it 0:45to maximize the value for your data and stick around to the end, 0:50because I'm going to show you how AI has enabled 0:54some cool new capabilities in the past few months. 0:59All right. 1:00You can think of iPaaS as kind of this ultimate connector for all your apps, 1:04and that's a good thing too, 1:06because businesses are using a lot of apps right now. 1:13In fact, experts are saying that in the next few years 1:18we could be adding upwards of a billion new apps. 1:25That's a lot of apps. 1:26Well, the good news is an iPaaS can help you connect to all those apps. 1:30And if we look a little bit deeper into it. 1:33You'll find out that it really boils down to four C's. 1:40With the first C being composition. 1:48All right. 1:48It's an understatement to say that things have gotten a lot more complex in the past few years. 1:54Knowing you have all these apps to worry about, 1:57these apps they need to talk to other apps. 2:03And it's not just apps. 2:04They also have to talk to APIs and B2B partners, events, files and a lot of other services. 2:18Pretty soon you're looking at hundreds or thousands of connections. 2:23So what iPaaS does, is it creates a composite solution around all these apps and services 2:32so that your organization can have a composite and holistic view 2:39of how you can grow your business. 2:44All right. 2:45We talked about connections. 2:46And actually that is the next C. 2:55Remember all these apps, right? 2:57Well, they are all over the place, literally. 3:01I mean, you have some that are on premise and you have others that are in the cloud, 3:11and you actually have a lot of others that are combination of both or hybrid. 3:25And don't forget that all these apps, they probably come from different vendors 3:30and could be hosted in a variety of different geographical locations. 3:35Well, all of this is the reason that modern iPaaS solutions are hybrid. 3:42This means that they can run on premise, they can run in the cloud, 3:48but they can also create secure connections to any environment. 3:55And they do that using hundreds of connectors that are built in to known apps and services. 4:02But if you want to, you can actually use code - create your own connectors. 4:12Wait. Writing code? 4:15Sounds like it's getting a little bit complicated. 4:17Well, the next "C" is not Code. 4:20And the next "C" is not Complicated, but it does address both of those issues. 4:26Because what iPaaS does is that it simplifies the creation of connectors. 4:38You see, legacy integration systems relied heavily on code 4:43and developers in order to create connections. 4:47But modern iPaaS solutions reduce the burden 4:51on your technical resources by providing. low code and. 5:00no code solutions for creating and maintaining those connections. 5:09And remember I mentioned that AI kind of disrupted everything for integration. 5:15Well, it also turns out that AI.. 5:23can actually make life a lot easier for iPaaS users. 5:29The reason for that is modern iPaaS solutions are built with AI in their core. 5:37And what this does is it allows for smarter connections to apps, 5:43including apps that might not even have existing connectors. 5:50So not only does this save time and money, 5:53but it also reduces the burden and some of the obstacles 5:56that businesses have and allows them to focus now,. 6:04instead of focusing on some of the technical 6:08challenges that they have, 6:15they're now now able to focus more on some of the business challenges 6:17instead of those technical challenges. 6:18The last "C" is... 6:19Centralized control. 6:29Okay, technically that is two C's. 6:31I realize that, but bear with me because it really is twice as cool. 6:35You see, in today's dynamic app landscape, you really need a way 6:40to be able to view and manage all of your integrations and APIs. 6:46And you know what? 6:47That is accomplished using something called Control Plane... 6:56which just happens to be a key feature of modern iPaaS solutions. 7:01So having centralized control allows businesses 7:05to be able to quickly make informed decisions. 7:09Such as... 7:11Should we scale resources up? 7:13Or should we scale resources down in order to save money? 7:20But it also allows you to build and manage compliance with local data laws. 7:27And the regulations there. 7:29So as we know, these can change all the time and they vary from region to region. 7:37So while connecting all of your apps, your APIs, 7:45and your data, can get a little bit chaotic. 7:53Modern iPaaS solutions bring order to your world, 7:57and they also allow you to start leveraging your data to provide value for your organization. 8:12If you enjoyed this video and want to see more like it, please like and subscribe! 8:16If you have any questions or you want to share your thoughts about this topic, please leave a comment below.
